Our story
Why we started
Making friends gets harder after school. People move for work, friend groups drift apart, and weekends fill up with errands. Plenty of us would go out more if we knew someone else who wanted to go too.
Paper Lantern Social Club is a membership for adults who want to meet people in person, not through a screen.
Real-life events
We run happy hours, dinners, art shows and other events in each of our markets. Come on your own or bring a friend.
After an event, you pick Friendship or None for the people you met. If you both pick Friendship, it's a match, and you can chat and plan the next meetup in My Circle.
The point is to see the same people more than once. A second or third conversation is usually where a friendship starts.
Plans made by members
Members share meetup ideas with each other, from a new restaurant to a Saturday farmers market or a concert nobody wants to attend alone. You pick what sounds good and go with people you met at an event.
For a bigger get-together, our concierge team can help find a venue and handle the booking.
Safe Bar Network partner
We partner with the Safe Bar Network, a nonprofit working to reduce alcohol-facilitated harm. 5% of every membership goes to their work.
